Rebuilding Together Quad Cities fills a pressing need in our community. We are the only national non-profit working to preserve affordable home ownership and revitalize neighborhoods by providing free home repairs to homeowners in-need. The increasing cost of living and decreasing social service budgets, leave our most vulnerable neighbors without the most basic of necessities: a warm, safe, and healthy home.
The homeowners that Rebuilding Together Quad Cities serves, the majority of which are living at or below the federal poverty line, are affected disproportionately by the economic landscape. Home ownership is at an all time high, while the costs of owning and maintaining a home continue to grow. Healthcare and other basic necessity costs are sky-rocketing, leaving low-income citizens with less disposable income for much needed home repairs and modifications. These sacrifices often leave families in unstable and unsafe home conditions, which adversely affect their health, home assets, and growth of the community.
Whether you are a homeowner yourself, or know of a client or neighbor who could use our help, please apply now. In at least two workdays per year, our volunteers repair conventionally-built homes for people who, due to financial hardship, age, and/or disability, cannot do the work themselves. Repairs are at no cost to the homeowner. Able-bodied family members over the age of 18 are expected to volunteer their time and labor.
