Wheelchair Ramp Improves Safety, Accessibility, and Independence in East Moline
Rebuilding Together Quad Cities was contacted by the Thompsons, a couple that resides in East Moline. Because of deteriorating health, they needed to have a wheelchair ramp installed in order to continue to live safely and independently at home.
Purchasing a ramp can run as high as $5000, not to mention the labor to make it happen. RTQC was able to organize a group of volunteers from John Deere (three retirees and one active employee) to get the job done at no cost to the homeowner.
